God is who He is regardless of what we believe about Him. His nature and character do not change. However, our perception of God has a major impact on how we relate and receive from Him. Because God's character and nature have been so misrepresented, we are not seeing the results the Bible promises. Therefore, it is through revelation knowledge of God's true nature (which is Jesus) that we can experience the fullness of God and have the greatest impact in the world today.
I believe each and every person at the heart level wants to represent God the best way they can. The most common method of accomplishing this has been through behavior modification or imitation of Jesus (What Would Jesus Do?). These methods most often bring us back under the law of rules and regulations, and whatever change in behavior is only temporary because it has not come as a byproduct of our relationship with God.
The Bible says, Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be; but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is. [1 John 3:2]
From this passage, the Lord has revealed to me that we will reflect and represent Him in the world to the degree that we see Him as he is. Therefore, instead of striving to "Do what Jesus did" our focus should be upon getting revelation of God's true nature (seeing Him as He is), and this will produce the fruit of Christ-likeness (the Spirit) in our lives. I began teaching this series to my Thursday night Bible study group and this revelation is already changing people's lives, and I'm sure it will change yours.
Here is a great truth: Your life will be a reflection of how you perceive God. Your perception/impression of God determines how you receive from Him. The primary reason your life is the way it is, is because of your perception of God; and the reason our perception is distorted is because we have not fully seen Him as He is... More
What are you willing to give up in order to truly know God? Are you willing to be stripped naked of all the religious “sacred cows”, traditions, religious clichés, and commandments of men? Jesus allowed Himself to be stripped naked publicly so you could know Him...More
The Bible says that our warfare consists of casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. This passage is teaching us that EVERY teaching of God we hear MUST come into the obedience of what Jesus taught, represented, and accomplished in His flesh... More
Have you ever bought something that promised to “change your life” but when you got it home, it didn’t work the way it was advertised? All of us have seen on television an infomercial promising something that “will change your life… and if you act now, you can have all of this for just $39.95!” The stuff we buy from infomercials often doesn’t work the same way as advertised. Or, they may work for a short period of time, but soon, they don’t... More
Here’s a question I want you to consider carefully in your heart: How is it that we understand that God became a man and submitted Himself to all that Jesus endured, including actually becoming sin and bearing our punishment for us, but yet not much would change in how God relates to us, and how we are to relate to Him? The Bible teaches that the law, the tabernacle, rituals and feasts, and many other things were shadows of what Jesus would eventually represent when He arrived in the earth. The Bible calls them a shadow of good things to come. A shadow is defined this way: a mere semblance, something insubstantial, trace or hint. We understand that natural shadows are not reality, but they portray or represent reality in part; and this is what the Old Testament accomplished. More
Few of you will agree with this, but according to the words of Jesus, the reason why Christians continue to cling to the rituals and observances of the Old Testament is because after having learned about them, they believe the old way is better. Because so many Christians are very carnal, they prefer to relate to God through physical things rather than spiritual. More
When the Bible says that God had revealed himself in sundry times and in diverse manners, it is reiterating a truth I began this teaching with, that the Old Testament revelation of God was incomplete, or in other words, in part. But the true and complete revelation of God has been accomplished in Jesus Christ, not only in identity, but also in word and in deed. More
Self-awareness and shame were one of the first byproducts of sin, and because of His great love for us, God immediately began dealing with the effects of sin by covering our nakedness. As a picture of what He would eventually do to destroy sin altogether through Jesus, God sacrificed an innocent animal and used its skin to cover their shame and protect their self-consciousness. Do we ever consider this wonderful truth in the perfect light of God’s grace and love? More
